Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our urgent care team. You will diagnose and treat patients of all ages, perform minor procedures, and conduct DOT/employment exams in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in urgent care or related fields, active NP or PA license, and BLS certification. AFC offers outpatient-focused, flexible scheduling, and strong professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license.
• Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license.
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Active BLS certification is required or to be obtained within onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage.
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
