Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will assess and treat patients of all ages, manage acute conditions, perform minor procedures, and collaborate with physicians in a fast-paced clinic.

The role emphasizes comprehensive physicals, diagnostic testing, patient counseling, and thorough documentation to ensure high-quality care and community impact.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license.
• Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license.
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage.
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
