Job summary

UNC Health Urgent Care Apex is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join an interdisciplinary team serving ages 4 months and up across multiple Triangle locations. Providers treat episodic illnesses, minor injuries, and perform occupational health exams with onsite X-ray and point-of-care testing.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• One to two year/s NP work experience in acute care, primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting required
• NC Licensure or ability to obtain
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to establish rapport with patients & collaborate effectively with team members
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Required procedures: Suturing, splinting
• DOT Certification
• Knowledge of OSHA recordables preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Treat episodic illnesses, minor injuries, and provide occupational health services and exams.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Provide care at UNC Rex based UNC Urgent Care clinics and onsite X-Ray/POCT.
• Support a walk-in based clinic with reservation and wait time system.
• Operate in a shift-based model with onsite work locations in Apex, NC
