Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for full-time positions across multiple UNC Rex–affiliated clinics in the Triangle area of North Carolina. The role involves treating episodic illnesses, minor injuries, and providing occupational health services in a fast-paced, onsite setting with a broader interprofessional team.

Eligible candidates must have NC licensure or the ability to obtain it, and DOT certification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• One to two years NP work experience in acute care, primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting.
• NC Licensure or ability to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to establish rapport with patients & collaborate effectively with team members.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Required procedures: Suturing, splinting.
• DOT Certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA recordables preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Treat episodic illnesses and minor injuries in urgent care setting.
• Provide occupational health services and exams.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with RNs, CMAs, Rad Techs, MOAs, Physicians, and APPs.
• Participate in clinics with on-site X-Ray and point of care testing.
