Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our corporate-operated urgent care centers. You’ll provide comprehensive urgent care services, manage acute conditions, perform procedures, and conduct DOT/employment physicals.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-focused care, and maintaining high-quality documentation. We welcome providers with active state licenses (ANCC/AANP or NCCPA) and at least two years of urgent care experience.

Qualifications

• Active state license as NP (ANCC or AANP) or PA (NCCPA) is required.
• Minimum 2+ years of urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care experience.
• Skilled in urgent care procedures and fast-paced clinic settings.
• Excellent communication skills and patient-centered mindset.
• Active BLS certification required or to be obtained during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage.
• Conduct physicals including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
