South Region - Urgent Care Medical Director (Southern Maryland)

MedStar Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) for the South Region (Southern Maryland: Waldorf - Festival Way, Waldorf - Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California). The physician must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. The sites are spread throughout Maryland, District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. The Medical Director's role includes both urgent care clinical duties and administrative/leadership responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be employed full-time, dedicating a portion of time to the Regional Medical Director role, overseeing administrative, managerial, and leadership tasks.
• Serve as a key clinical leader in the region, acting as the primary contact for providers.
• Evaluate patient satisfaction surveys and address clinical care complaints in collaboration with the patient experience office.
• Assist in scheduling and coverage issues, including handling call outs and surges.
• Conduct reviews for new and existing providers, site visits, and coaching sessions.
• Implement and administer MedStar Urgent Care policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Work on improving performance indicators related to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, documentation, coding, financials, and provider engagement.

Director - MHUC Provider Mentor Program

Responsibilities include administrative, managerial, and leadership oversight:

• Act as the chief mentor program liaison, overseeing mentor recruitment and introduction.
• Make initial contact with mentors, provide program details, and conduct follow-up meetings.
• Oversee mentor-mentee pairings, including assignments, unpairings, and maintaining logs.
• Coach mentors and mentees on maintaining professional relationships.
• Coordinate with project managers to update MD Collaboration Agreements.
• Attend relevant meetings, lead quarterly mentor meetings, and review mentor performance.
• Ensure documentation and perform other leadership duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Director.
