South Region - Urgent Care Medical Director (Southern Maryland)

MedStar Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) for the South Region (Southern Maryland: Waldorf - Festival Way, Waldorf - Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California). The physician must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. The sites span Maryland, District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. The role includes clinical urgent care responsibilities and administrative/leadership duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dedicate a percentage of full-time employment to the Regional Medical Director role, overseeing administrative, managerial, and leadership responsibilities.
• Serve as a key clinical leader and primary contact for providers within the region.
• Evaluate patient feedback and work with the patient experience team to address clinical care issues.
• Assist in creating clinical schedules and serve as the point of contact for coverage issues.
• Conduct reviews for new employees and bi-annual provider reviews, perform site visits, and provide coaching.
• Implement and administer MedStar Urgent Care policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Improve performance indicators related to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, documentation, coding, financials, and provider engagement.

Director - MHUC Provider Mentor Program

Responsibilities include administrative, managerial, and leadership oversight, serving as the chief mentor program liaison, overseeing mentor recruitment, pairing mentors and mentees, maintaining logs, providing coaching, and ensuring program activities such as journal clubs are completed.

Additional duties include attending relevant meetings, reviewing mentor tasks, and performing other leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Medical Director.
