South Region - Urgent Care Medical Director (Southern Maryland)

MedStar Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) for the South Region (Southern Maryland: Waldorf – Festival Way, Waldorf – Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California). Candidates must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. Our sites are located throughout Maryland, District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. The role includes both clinical urgent care duties and administrative/leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Dedicate a portion of time to clinical care and administrative leadership within the region.
2. Serve as a key clinical leader and primary contact for providers in the region.
3. Evaluate patient satisfaction and handle clinical complaints in collaboration with the patient experience team.
4. Assist in scheduling and coverage issues, including call-outs and surges.
5. Conduct provider reviews, site visits, and coaching sessions.
6. Implement and oversee policies, procedures, and new initiatives.
7. Maintain performance standards in quality, safety, patient satisfaction, documentation, coding, financials, and provider engagement.

Director – MHUC Provider Mentor Program

Additional leadership responsibilities include overseeing the mentor program, which involves:

1. Mentor recruitment and onboarding.
2. Facilitating mentor-mentee pairings and maintaining records.
3. Providing coaching and support to mentors and mentees.
4. Ensuring completion of journal clubs and other program tasks.
5. Attending relevant meetings and performing administrative duties.
