Position Overview

MedStar Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) for the South Region (Southern Maryland: Waldorf – Festival Way, Waldorf – Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California). Candidates must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. The role involves clinical duties at urgent care sites across Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia, along with administrative and leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

1. Dedicate a percentage of full-time employment to regional oversight, including administrative, managerial, and leadership duties.
2. Serve as a clinical leader and primary contact for providers within the region.
3. Evaluate patient satisfaction and feedback, addressing clinical care concerns.
4. Assist in creating clinical schedules and handle coverage issues.
5. Conduct reviews for new and existing providers, site visits, and coaching sessions.
6. Implement and oversee adherence to MedStar Urgent Care policies and initiatives.
7. Maintain performance indicators related to quality, safety, patient satisfaction, documentation, coding, financials, and provider engagement.

Mentor Program Leadership

The RMD will also serve as the chief liaison for the MHUC Provider Mentor Program, overseeing mentor recruitment, pairing, and performance, and conducting meetings and reviews to ensure program success.
