A leading urgent care clinic in Alabama seeks a Medical Assistant to provide vital patient care, manage insurance verification, and support clinic operations. Candidates must have an accredited medical assistant background and active certification. Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain before starting.
• Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued.
• EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/histories.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays.
• Educate patients on clinical procedures and financial expectations.
• Participate in daily huddles and maintain compliance logs.
