The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant for Urgent Care - PRN positions. The role supports patient flow, prepares patients for visits, assists physicians with procedures, and maintains records in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates should graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or have at least one year as a MA, hold a BLS certification, and demonstrate strong customer service skills in a culturally sensitive environment.

Formación

• High School Graduate and a Medical Assistant program graduate or MA experience with CCMA/NCRMA certification considered.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required within 14 days of hire.
• Basic typing and word processing skills.
• Preferred CCMA or NCRMA certification.

Responsabilidades

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares lab specimens.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations.
• Documents patient history elements for clinical staff review.
• Submits prescriptions and refills electronically or via fax to out-patient pharmacies.
• Maintains medical records and documentation; handles chart processing.
