Job summary

Required is a High School diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification; BLS required within 14 days.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification.
• BLS/BCLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares lab specimens per policy.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklist.
• Collaborates with the health care team to coordinate patient care and records history for clinical staff review.
• Electronically submits/prescribes and refills to outpatient pharmacies.
• Ensures data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records.
• Maintains medical records and required documentation; handles reports and correspondence.
• Maintains orderly and stocked exam rooms; manages logs and equipment checks.
• Performs clerical duties: greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification, insurance forms, and ambulatory care charges.
• Performs basic clinical tasks and vital signs documentation.
