Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the direction of an urgent care provider. You will handle check-in, interview patients, record vital signs, draw blood samples, and prepare rooms for examinations.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and, preferably, a Medical Assisting program; BLS is required by the time of hire. Certification in one of several MA programs is accepted, with optional pathways to certification within 15 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required by hire date.
• Prior MA or front desk experience preferred.
• Must obtain MA certification within 15 months if not certified.
• CPOE certification due within two weeks of start.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for examination.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies; cleanliness and stocking.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Answer calls and manage correspondence.
• Open/close duties and secure the building.
