American Family Care in Alabama is hiring Medical Assistants to blend clinical skills, patient service, and front-desk/insurance verification work to keep our clinics running smoothly. You’ll triage patients, draw blood, perform CLIA-waived tests, help with minor procedures, and support EKGs and nebulizer therapy.

We seek graduates of an accredited MA program with CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent, 1+ year verifications experience, BLS, EMR proficiency (Experity preferred), and a compassionate,

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain before starting.
• Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued.
• EMR proficiency (Experity preferred) and comfort with payer portals (Waystar).
• Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills.

Responsabilités

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/histories, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived testing, assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, and nebulizer therapy.
• Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile payment logs, and maintain EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients on clinical procedures and financial expectations, provide discharge instructions with empathy and professionalism.
• Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs, support infection-control and HIPAA standards.
