Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient intake, vitals, testing, and EMR documentation in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will register patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, schedule referrals, and keep exam rooms prepared with attention to safety and efficiency.

BLS certification is required at hire, and MA certification is preferred. Competitive pay with a monthly bonus program and comprehensive benefits accompany opportunities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (AHA or ARC).
• Certification options: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA accepted.
• Note: if MA cert not held at hire, must obtain within 6 months.

Responsabilités

• Register patients, verify insurance, and collect co-pays.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate specialist referrals.
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide care status updates.
• Record medical history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, ECG).
• Phlebotomy and injections as needed.
• Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms.
• Update EMR and scan documents.
• Answer phones and manage admin tasks.
• Conduct patient follow-up and maintain reception area.
