Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant at our urgent care centers. The MA completes duties accurately, with high quality, and timely support, helping our mission to be the urgent care partner of choice by delivering value and access to quality care through an effortless patient experience and a strong culture of care.

Education includes a High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ year MA experience or MA certifications (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA); or nursing/EMT/Paramedic training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in healthcare setting or MA certifications.
• Must obtain CPOE within 2 weeks if MA certification not obtained; BLS certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks.
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.
• All other duties as assigned.
