Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will register patients, document health information, take vital signs, collect labs, and assist clinicians in examinations.

The role requires 1+ year MA experience (hospital, primary care, ED, or urgent care), and current BLS; several MA certifications are accepted. On-site work with benefits and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or higher)
• 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care
• MA certifications accepted at time of hire: CCMA, CMA, CMA variants, NCMA, NRCMA, ARMA
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, LPN/LVN, or EMT/Paramedic accepted at hire
• CPOE certification required within 2 weeks if MA certification not obtained at hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists
• Perform vital signs and prepare patients for examination
• Assist with specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
