Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our corporate-operated urgent care centers. You will blend clinical tasks with front-desk duties, including insurance verification, patient registration, venipuncture, and point-of-care testing to keep centers running smoothly.

We value a completion of an accredited MA program, active CMA/RMA/CCMA certification, and at least 1 year of experience. BLS is required, EMR proficiency, and willingness to work evenings/weekends in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain before starting.
• EMR proficiency; experience with payer portals.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients; collect vitals and histories.
• Perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived point-of-care tests.
• Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility.
• Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations; discharge instructions.
• Maintain EMR accuracy; support infection-control and HIPAA standards.
