Job summary

Washington Regional Urgent Care in Mountain Home, AR is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with clerical experience to join our urgent care team. The role blends clinical care—taking histories, vital signs, and preparing patients for provider evaluation—with receptionist duties such as check-in, scheduling, and payments processing.

You will support procedures under supervision, maintain patient areas, and ensure accurate documentation while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent; AR Limited X-Ray license preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• Prior clerical tasks in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly in waiting, exam, and x-ray areas.
• Handle registration, phones, filing, scanning, and patient callbacks.
• Check in/out patients and support clinical staff; close the office after shifts.
• Collect insurance info, verify demographics, process payments, post balances.
• Communicate wait times and direct patients to the next steps.
• Document vitals, histories, meds, allergies; assist with transfers.
• Assist with procedures under supervision and documentation.
• Maintain neat patient areas and manage deposits.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures.
