Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the urgent care team in a fast-paced setting. You will perform venipuncture, vital signs, EKGs and explain procedures to patients, while handling scheduling, registration, and phone coverage.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work independently, and adherence to patient confidentiality. Medical assisting training and BLS certification are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of venipuncture and EKG.
• Good communication skills and telephone techniques.
• Ability to work independently.
• Thorough knowledge of ancillary testing procedures.
• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs all medical procedures necessary (eg. Venipunctures, vital signs and EKGs) on all patients as required. Explains testing procedure to patient prior to test.
• Receives specimens from patients.
• Visually review and log test results for completion and abnormalities.
• Schedule and register patients in the office, answer telephones, meet and greet patients and assist medical providers in all other matters pertaining to the urgent care visit.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
