Job summary

Baptist Health Urgent Care in Richmond, VA seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, patient history, EPIC navigation, scheduling, and coordinating tests.

After competency, duties may include EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year(s) of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office or clinic.
• Experience delivering direct patient care (vital signs, documentation, medications).
• Graduate of an accredited MA training program with hands-on patient experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus.
• BAT and DOT certifications required/within 90 days for Occupational Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients, obtain vital signs and reconcile medications.
• Collect patient history information.
• Navigate EPIC EMR and coordinate tests/procedures.
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients and physicians.
• Provide clinical support to providers and uphold Baptist’s service values.
• May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections after competency.
