Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Chelsea, MA, seeks a skilled clinical laboratory assistant to support urgent care operations. You will perform start-up, maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and conduct moderate complexity tests, with accurate data entry into the LIS.

You will communicate results to the clinical team, perform quality controls and CAP proficiency testing, and assist with patient care duties as needed in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate degree required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs start-up, maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and laboratory equipment per protocols and CAP requirements.
• Communicates lab results to the clinical team and documents results in the LIS.
• Prepares specimens and performs moderately complex lab tests using automated equipment.
• Maintains quality control activities and CAP proficiency testing documentation.
• Performs patient care duties including vitals, phlebotomy and assisting providers as needed, while ensuring a calm, efficient clinical environment.
