Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Cookeville, TN is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. You will greet patients, prepare files, and support both patients and medical staff.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and comfort with electronic medical records. Prior medical office experience is preferred, and you will work a rotating schedule with some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of basic computer software and the ability to learn electronic medical records.
• Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and guide them through the registration process.
• Answer multi-line phones, file, fax, scan documents and complete daily patient callbacks.
• Check in and discharge patients, assist clinical staff and close the office after shifts.
• Collect insurance information, verify demographics, process payments and post balances.
• Maintain a neat, professional work environment and appearance.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
