Job summary

AFC Urgent Care in Minnesota is seeking a dependable Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our clinical team. This clinic-based role focuses on hands-on patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment outside of ambulance or ED settings.

You will assist providers, perform point-of-care testing, document in the EMR, and help maintain efficient patient flow. We offer competitive hourly pay, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for growth in clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member.
• Dependable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
• Previous urgent care, emergency department, ambulance, or other clinical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens
• Perform EKGs and other clinical testing as trained
• Assist with wound care, splinting, and other urgent care procedures
• Administer medications and injections when permitted by training, clinic policy, and applicable regulations
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms
• Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain appropriate infection-control standards
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
• Assist with patient flow to keep visits efficient
• Maintain clinical supplies and restock rooms
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families
• Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, front desk staff, and other members of the clinic team
