Job summary

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT or NRCMA
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• BLS certification (required at hire for certain Mercy locations)
• Ability to document and communicate medical information clearly

Responsibilities

• Assist with both indirect and direct patient care under provider supervision
• Record and document patient medical information and vital signs
• Prepare examination rooms, administer medications as directed
• Travel to other facilities if required and adjust hours to meet patient care needs
• Maintain clinical and administrative skills per scope of practice
