Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary program preferred in most states.
• Active Medical Assisting certification required (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA or ABR-OE).

Responsibilities

• Record patient history and vital signs in medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vitals.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens for testing.
• Explain treatments and medications to patients.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
