Job summary

Duke Health in Durham is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Duke Urgent Care Croasdaile. The CMA will collect medical histories, monitor vital signs, explain treatments, and prepare patients for exams, while assisting providers during procedures.

Administrative duties include scheduling, reminders, billing support, and updating records. The position offers three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend rotation; a $7,500 commitment bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level II/III prefer CA AHEP/ABHES accreditation; Level I also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: collect medical histories, monitor vital signs, explain treatments, and prep patients for exams.
• Assist medical staff during procedures, collect lab samples, perform basic tests, perform EKGs, and manage dressings.
• Admin: greet patients, schedule appointments, check out patients, handle referrals and billing tasks, and maintain records.
