Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Urgent Care South clinic in Durham, NC. The CMA will support clinical and administrative tasks, including patient intake, vital signs, and assisting the medical staff.

Commitment bonus of $7,500 is available for eligible candidates. Strong emphasis on patient care, safety, and accurate documentation within Maestro Care EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation is required.
• Levels I–III require CMA/AMT/NHA-CCMA/NCMA/ARMA certifications and BLS.

Responsabilités

• The CMA collects medical histories and vital signs and explains treatments to patients.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Assist with lab tests and EKGs.
• Distribute medications and handle prescription refills as instructed by the doctor.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, check out patients, and assist with billing tasks.
