Job summary

Quincy Medical Group seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in outpatient primary care under a collaborative physician. You’ll see patients across all ages, perform physicals, order labs, diagnostics, and treatments, and document progress in the chart using Epic EHR.

The role offers a full scope of practice in ambulatory care with a supportive team, competitive base compensation of $110,000–$140,000 depending on qualifications and experience, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school for Nurse Practitioners OR Physician Assistant-Master’s Degree.
• Licensed or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Missouri.
• 1+ years of experience as practicing APP in primary care or similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care within a detailed scope of practice.
• Complete physicals and order diagnostics/therapeutic modalities.
• Perform procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care; prescribe medications.

The scope of practice identifies the range of clinical modalities and protocols agreed upon between the NP/PA and collaborative physician. Within the ambulatory care setting, under the collaborative physician and scope of practice, the NP/PA completes physicals; orders diagnostic and therapeutic modalities: e.g., laboratory, x-ray, EKG, etc.; performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management; prescribes medications; instructs and educates patients and their families in proper healthcare, appropriate illness prevention, and home care; and documents in the patient chart progress notes, orders, etc. These aforementioned responsibilities are performed under the scope of practice to optimize clinical outcomes. The NP/PA must be credentialed as a mid-level provider by same Hospital(s) in which the collaborative physician has admitting privileges.
