Job summary

Universal Charter Schools is seeking a Climate Specialist in Philadelphia to help maintain a positive climate conducive to learning. You will monitor student behavior and support staff in enforcing classroom and school rules, both in and out of the building.

The role requires experience with conflict resolution programs, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in an urban school environment. This is a full-time, 10-month position at 5401 Tabor Ave, Philadelphia, PA.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in community or school conflict resolution programs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and families.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate smooth transitions at the start and end of the school day.
• Assist staff in establishing classroom rules that support learning.
• Enforce the Code of Student Conduct and school policies.
• Attend professional development on climate and behavior programs.
• Intervene to minimize conflicts between students.
• Contribute to School Climate Plan implementation.
• Reinforce appropriate behavior with individual students.
• Monitor behavior during unstructured times.
• Assist with outdoor activities before/after school.
