Job summary

The City of New York invites applications for two City Planner positions within the DOT's Office of Cityscape & Franchises. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and managing concessions (Plaza, Open Streets), public toilet installations, and franchises, while supporting contract and program management and database tracking efforts.

Successful candidates must meet formal City requirements, possessing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with related city planning experience, and may participate

Qualifications

• Master's degree in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related field; or
• Bachelor's degree and one year of city planning experience in housing, transportation, environment or city land planning projects; or
• A combination of education and experience equal to the above. Graduate education may substitute for experience with 30 graduate credits, but a Bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination and management of concessions, Plaza and Open Streets programs, toilet installations and franchises.
• Support contract management, program management, and database tracking projects.
• Coordinate with the unit director, community boards, BIDs and not-for-profits; prepare presentations and manage communications.
