Job description

Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Associate, eCommerce & Web Production to play a key role in the product catalog management and visual merchandising for UrbanOutfitters.com. The Associate will be responsible for a variety of e-commerce operational tasks and duties, including site catalog management, new product activation, quality assurance, product attribution for search and navigation, website shop-ability and creation of brand appropriate web categories based on selling and merchandising strategies.

The ideal candidate is dynamic, flexible, and driven, thriving under pressure and tight deadlines. This role involves managing various tasks related to web management, web merchandising, and product publishing. Success in this position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and prioritization skills, along with keen attention to detail. The ability to strategically filter and prioritize feedback and requests is essential.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the daily activation and maintenance of the product catalog and content on US and Canadian websites. This includes conducting regular audits and managing the entire lifecycle of the assigned catalog area
  • Ensure an accurate and clear digital customer experience by managing PDP (Product Detail Page) information, cross-selling strategies, browse categories, and search functionalities on both the website and app
  • Responsible for operational best practices that ensure optimal product findability via browse and on-site search as well as search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Utilize multiple web applications such as a catalog management system, content management system, merchandising and on-site search tool, and inventory and tracking systems
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to research, resolve and QA all aspects of site and app functionality including products, categories, filtering, navigation and search
  • Identify tactics to ensure and improve conversion based on investments, product attribution, merchandising direction, current trends and analysis of product and category report metrics
  • Work collaboratively with Buying, Operations, Photo Studio/Styling, Copy, DC/Call Center, Planning, and Merchandising teams to ensure delivery of accurate and optimized products, web categories and merchandising
  • Execute weekly markdowns and category promotions
  • Identify and resolve technical issues; follow-through until resolution is vital
  • Ongoing QA and monitoring of website content, promotions and overall functionality
  • Manage web-related projects that support functionality and marketing
Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience working in a collaborative or professional environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can be applied inter/intra departmentally to obtain critical information from other teams or individuals
  • Strong capacity for multi-tasking, organization, working independently and time management
  • Candidates should be able to prioritize and maintain a high level of accuracy doing multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proactive personality
  • An appreciation for and understanding of the Urban Outfitters customer and aesthetic
  • A passion for retail and specifically ecommerce in today’s marketplace
  • In-depth computer literacy and internet proficiency
  • Must be comfortable working with technical systems and troubleshooting web issues
  • An impeccable eye for detail and strong quality assurance skills

Preferred Skills

  • Competency with web-based products, content, or catalog management applications
  • Understanding of global e-commerce website experiences and international fashion markets
  • Technical expertise in web management
  • Experience basic reporting and data analysis using tools like Tableau
