Job summary

Brayman Construction is seeking a full-time Near Surface Construction Superintendent to lead near-surface scopes on the ALCOSAN Ohio River Tunnel Project. You will manage shafts, excavation supports, utility relocations, site logistics, and urban work with strict safety and coordination requirements.

The role demands strong leadership, planning around limited space and public interfaces, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably structure related, with multiple trades.
• Experience managing construction activities in congested urban work zones with complex utility restrictions.
• Experience with contracts, specifications, reports and records.
• Experience with trade supervision including performance evaluations.
• Experience with hiring, supervising, and assisting in training of union trades.
• OSHA 30-hour certification is required to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and supervises field staff, craftworkers, and subcontractors.
• Prepares work schedules and assignments.
• Communicates and enforces safety procedures.
• Plans and coordinates near-surface construction activities in congested urban areas, including limited laydown space and traffic interfaces.
• Identifies and manages complex utility restrictions and shutdown coordination.
• Coordinates daily work sequencing with project management, engineering, and stakeholders to minimize impacts.
• Helps develop schedules and monitor productions in the field after project award.
• Ensures safety plans and project specifications are followed.
• Trains and develops employees for growth within the company.
