Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• NJ state teacher certification (Standard Certificate, CE, CEAS) or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Experience with special education population in urban classrooms.
• Data-driven instruction to achieve significant student gains.
• Knowledge of using the IEP Data Collection Toolkit.

Responsibilities

• Design ambitious assignments, learning goals, and assessments for all students.
• Identify and assess strengths, needs, and growth for diverse learners.
• Create learning environments that maximize engagement and use varied strategies.
• Collaborate with school leaders to analyze assessment data and inform instruction.
• Ensure students demonstrate understanding through multiple representations and problem solving.
• Promote student initiative and a safe, respectful learning climate.
• Implement effective classroom management and proactive routines.
• Communicate progress to students and families and maintain records.
