Job summary

Oakmont Education is seeking a School Director for Frederick Douglass High School in Toledo, OH. This full-time, on-site role leads instructional and operational aspects to ensure student achievement and a thriving school culture.

You will coach teaching staff, partner with families and the community, and own enrollment, culture, and outcomes. A Master's in Educational Leadership is preferred, with 3–5 years of leadership experience and a commitment to urban student success.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Master's in Educational Leadership and administrative certification is welcome but not required.
• 3–5 years' experience as a school leader with significant areas of responsibility preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teaching staff and drive school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily school operations including academics, activities, security, and staffing.
• Set high standards for student achievement and behavior and be accountable for results.
• Provide ethical, motivating leadership reflecting the school and community context.
• Develop systems so students, families, teachers, and staff are well supported.
• Lead policy development and maintain strong board, donor, and community relations.
• Build partnerships with families through clear communication and involvement.
• Lead ongoing staff development via observations, data use, and coaching.
• Coordinate professional development workshops and participate in school improvement.
