Job summary

Education for Change in Oakland seeks dynamic teachers who will engage students, families, and our learning community to ensure high student achievement in an urban elementary setting with high English Learner and low-income populations.

The teacher provides instructional leadership, collaborates with lead teachers, the principal, and coaches, and partners with families to support the whole child and continuous improvement through a professional learning community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Valid California Credential or ability to attain one.
• CLAD, BCLAD, or English Language Learner Authorization.
• Growth mindset with openness to feedback to refine practice.
• Experience with PBIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and long-term instructional plans aligned with California Common Core standards and school goals.
• Assess students regularly and analyze results to differentiate instruction.
• Establish and maintain a high-expectations, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators within a professional learning community.
• Engage families and community partners to support the whole child and student success.
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in required professional development.
