Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Green Infrastructure Technician II to join the Austin Watershed Protection team. This role focuses on maintaining green infrastructure assets such as rain gardens, creeks, and easements to enhance ecological function and climate resilience.

Responsibilities include operating a range of equipment, performing land management tasks, following safety procedures, and keeping daily logs and pre-trip documentation. Outdoor work in varying weather is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of drainage maintenance and/or landscaping experience preferred.
• Must obtain Texas driver license and comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform green infrastructure maintenance tasks including mowing, planting, pruning and irrigation maintenance.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, saws, and sprayers.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintain daily logs and project documentation.
