City of Austin is seeking a Green Infrastructure Technician II to maintain drainage easements and city landscapes, including rain gardens, creeks, and floodplain areas. You will prune, plant, mow, apply herbicides, and manage irrigation as part of a dedicated maintenance crew.

The role requires experience in drainage/landscaping, safety compliance, and the ability to operate diverse equipment such as chippers and tractors.

Formación

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three years of drainage maintenance/landscaping experience.
• One year of additional related experience may substitute for one year of high school, up to four years total.
• Preferred: arboriculture tasks such as pruning, planting, removals; experience operating yard equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform green infrastructure maintenance including mowing, planting, pruning, seeding, weeding, herbicide application, irrigation, and general tree care.
• Operate and maintain equipment (mowers, saws, trimmers, irrigation systems).
• Manage land in open spaces, creeks, floodplains, and easements, including invasives control and fuels mitigation.
• Prepare daily logs, hazard analyses, and pre-/post-trip documentation.
