Job summary

District Department of Transportation (DDOT), Urban Forestry Division, is seeking an Urban Forester to lead on-site inspections, inventories, and management of urban tree populations. The role focuses on planning, applying forestry methods, and contributing to restoration and conservation projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating field site visits, data collection, training sessions for staff and contractors, and ensuring work aligns with DDOT plans.

Qualifications

• Degree in Forestry or related field with 24 semester hours in forestry.
• Combination of education and experience in forestry accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct urban forest inventories and site assessments.
• Evaluate tree populations and conditions to guide management actions.
• Assist in environmental impact statements and conservation measures.
• Coordinate training and outreach for urban forest programs.
• Maintain currency in project management and data systems.
