The City of Dallas is seeking a City Forester to plan, develop, implement, and manage a citywide urban forestry and horticultural maintenance program. You will organize staff, work with community groups, and craft policies to foster a thriving urban forest.

You will supervise planting and maintenance, coordinate interdepartmentally, and develop long-range plans for tree health, pests, and restoration. ISA certification is required within one year.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, forestry, arboriculture or horticulture.
• Four years of urban forestry/arboriculture experience including planting and maintenance.
• Two years of supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Equivalencies allowed per city guidelines.

Mansioni

• Plan, supervise, and evaluate citywide tree and foliage maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with City staff, contractors, and the public to set policies.
• Oversee planting, cultivation, and health management of trees along streets and parks.
• Develop and implement short- and long-range forest plans and procedures.
• Provide instruction and training for arborist staff and workshops.
• Monitor permits and enforce regulations; coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
• Oversee contract compliance and forestry-related permits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
