Job summary

Alvéole is seeking an Urban Beekeeper in the Los Angeles area to manage client-site hives on a flexible, contract basis. You will perform hive maintenance, install new hives, conduct inspections, harvest honey, and ensure accurate digital record-keeping.

You will travel regularly to client sites and lead educational workshops on bees and biodiversity, while building a local beekeeping network and sharing data via Alvéole’s tools.

Qualifications

• Hands-on beekeeping experience and knowledge of hive health and seasonal management.
• Availability to service hives on a recurring schedule.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain honey bee hives at client sites on a three-week service cycle and support colony health.
• Install new hives and related equipment at client locations.
• Conduct routine hive inspections and maintenance.
• Harvest honey from hives and manage delivery to clients, targeting ~30 pounds per hive per season.
