Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology is hiring a 2nd Shift Skilled Manufacturing Operator for our Urbana, OH facility, on-site from 3pm to 11pm. Join a globally active family company with a culture of trust and continuous improvement.

You will set up machines per order specs, troubleshoot controls, request materials to minimize downtime, document production data, and monitor machine performance for quality. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of manufacturing experience;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry (testing required)
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
• Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing between 50 - 100 lbs, depending on the machine and work in a not climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train

Responsibilities

• Set-up machine(s) per customer/order specification (make-to-order products)
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine controls and components
• Communicate with other departments to request raw materials and supplies to eliminate downtime
• Document and explain all production data according to procedures
• Observe the operation of the machine to detect and correct malfunctions
• Perform quality inspections

The role…

You will provide a full range of manufacturing support to 2nd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: General machine set-up and troubleshooting, utilizing safe operating procedures, and collaboration with team members throughout the facility.

Overtime: May be required depending on machine / area, volunteer opportunities, cross training opportunities.
