Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking a Commodity Buyer based in Greensboro, NC to manage supplier quality, delivery, cost and risk for Cab Interior & Exterior components. You will lead supplier selection, secure QDCFTSR performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement the segment business plan.

The role reports to the Head of Uptime Purchasing North America and requires 3+ years in strategic purchasing within manufacturing. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strategic purchasing experience (contracts, supplier negotiations, sourcing).
• Experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent working experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies to improve supply chain performance, quality, and value.
• Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers in the segment.
• Collaborate with global buyers and cross-functional teams on supply chain and technology strategies.
• Use VPS tools to drive efficiency across the supply chain.
• Monitor and mitigate risks with SNQ in collaboration with teams.

What you will do

This Commodity Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the Cab Interior & Exterior segment (e.g. hoods, cabinets, roofs,seats, fire extinguishers, etc.). You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan isimplemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSRperformance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and after productionfor Revenue segments.

This position will be based out of Greensboro, NC and will report to the Head of Uptime Purchasing North America.

Responsibilities will include:

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhancedproduct quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
• Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Cab Interior & Exterior segment
• Contribute to segment business plan & be an active member in the global network of Buyers
• Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute globalsupply chain and technology strategies
• Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
• Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and RiskManagement targets (QDCFTSR)
• Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team
• Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
• Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production phase and after production phase forRevenue segments

Who are you?

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $72,590.00 - $89,670.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
