Job summary

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa is seeking a Banquet Server to deliver food and beverages to patrons. The role offers flexible hours with event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-focused work environment.

Responsibilities include setting tables, presenting menus, observing guest satisfaction, and assisting with room turns. Minimum qualifications include a food handler certificate, two years of banquet serving experience, and strong customer

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years experience as a Banquet Server in an upscale venue.
• Current Food Handler certification required.
• Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Good time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Must have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Bilingual is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set tables with appropriate service ware accurately and efficiently.
• Introduce menu to each table and inform supervisor of dietary constraints.
• Monitor dining experience and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Clear dishes and flatware by course as guests finish.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in kitchen and utility areas.
• Assist set up crew with clearing room and resetting tables.
