Pearce Services in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Service Engineer). You will perform preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, and related critical power equipment in data centers and other mission-critical facilities.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on UPS experience, strong electrical skills, ability to read schematics, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience servicing UPS systems
• Experience with battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, or data center infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills with handheld/test equipment
• Excellent customer-facing communication and safety-focused mindset
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment
• Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment, and manufacturer documentation
• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, monitoring systems, and associated power infrastructure
• Respond to emergency service calls and restore systems to operation with safety and quality standards
• Complete service reports and maintain documentation accurately
• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise and service delivery
• Mentor junior technicians and support field training efforts
• Maintain OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site safety compliance
• Travel within service territory, including overnight travel as needed
