Summary of Position:

St. Michael's Prep seeks a full-time or part-time Technology teacher beginning in August 2025. We are searching for a dynamic, innovative educator in the field of technology at many high school levels which may include coding, computer science, CAD, digital graphics and animation, and video game design. Ability to teach other physical science courses is a plus. There is also the opportunity to design and implement elective courses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards students, staff, and faculty.
  • Be passionate about pedagogy and collaborative work.
  • Dedicated to carrying out the mission of the school.
  • Possess wide-ranging academic preparation.
  • Be fully committed to addressing the developmental needs of adolescents while also fostering the academic growth of well-rounded students.
  • Be willing to work closely with colleagues on departmental objectives.
  • Responsible for teaching 4-5 sections of technology courses.
  • Lead an advisory of students.
  • Participate in ongoing community service projects and retreats with students and fellow teachers.
  • Expected to contribute to our Winter Term, a 3-week term during which diverse opportunities are offered for classes, academic travel, and internships.
  • Have a commitment to diversity in all aspects of school life and reflect an appreciation of lifelong learning.
  • Have a commitment to both the developmental needs of adolescents and to education.

Requirements

Required Experience, Degree, and Skills:

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • Prior experience is required.
  • Master’s/Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Experience as a student advisor preferred.
  • Teaching experience in independent schools is preferred.
