Job Description

Windham Woods School is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic Upper School Humanities Teacher to join our Upper School team. The position includes teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies courses to students in grades 9–12 with an emphasis on critical thinking, writing, executive function, and communication skills.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Education, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred; Special Education background strongly valued
  • Experience teaching high school English Language Arts and/or Social Studies preferred
  • Strong content knowledge in literature, writing, and language instruction
  • Teaching certification/licensure preferred; teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to engage and support diverse learners, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
