Job summary

Stryker is seeking a field-based Medical Device Sales representative to drive growth in the Upper Extremities portfolio within a Connecticut territory. The role involves educating surgeons and hospital staff, ensuring product availability, and building strong customer relationships.

You will cover surgical cases, participate in meetings outside regular hours, and collaborate with Sales Representatives on marketing strategies while adhering to regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree or Medical Certification (i.e. CST, PT, CPT) + at least 2 years of professional and/or related experience.
  • High School Diploma + at least 4 years of professional and/or related experience.
  • 4+ years of active duty military service

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Sales Representatives to learn the medical device industry and grow the assigned territory.
  • Cover surgical cases and ensure products are available for surgeon use.
  • Instruct surgeons on product use and functionality.
  • Educate doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff on product use, maintenance, functionality, updates, portfolio changes, and educational programs.
  • Contact customers to identify sales opportunities, deliver customer service, and develop relationships.
  • Identify new prospect needs and develop appropriate responses.
  • Tailor promotional messaging, advise on product selection, and differentiate Stryker products from competitors.
  • Perform field calls for assigned accounts and territory.
  • Assist with new sales plans and marketing strategies to meet or exceed business targets.
  • Serve as primary backup contact for Sales Representatives.
  • Assist with account problem resolution.
  • Manage inventory and build inventory levels and sets with Sales Representatives.
  • Acquire and process customer purchase orders for invoicing.
  • Market Upper Extremities products and remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
  • Attend sales and professional association meetings outside regular business hours.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality, protect organizational assets, act ethically, report non-compliance, and follow applicable requirements and company policies

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s degree or Medical Certification (i.e. CST, PT, CPT, etc.) + at least 2 years of professional and/or related experience
  • High School Diploma + at least 4 years of professional and/or related experience
  • 4+ years of active duty military service
  • Travel Percentage: 50%
  • Ability to attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours
  • Adherence to regulatory compliance, AdvaMed principles of responsibility, applicable laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements, and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to obtain COVID-19 vaccination if required by customer requirements for sales and field roles with access to customer accounts
