Job summary

Jimmy Jazz is seeking an Upholstery Associate to join our manufacturing team in Ferdinand, IN. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Upholstery Supervisor and works in a fast-paced, piecework hourly incentive environment.

You will attach upholstery fabric with staple guns, secure buttons, trim fabric, hammer tack strips, and move products between the conveyor and work bench. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with willingness to overtime and teamwork.

  • Strong attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Attach upholstery fabric with staple guns.
  • Secure buttons, trim fabric, adjust fabric, fold pleats, attach skirt.
  • Hammer tack strips with hand tools.
  • Carry product from conveyor to bench and return to conveyor.
  • Learn components applied to each model.
  • Review upholstery tag to ensure correct fabric color.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Upholstery Associate

Our Upholsters work in a fast paced, piecework hourly incentive environment .

Essential Job functions and responsibilities include the following:

  • Use staple guns to attach upholstery fabric and padding to wooden frames
  • Securing buttons, trimming fabric, adjusting fabric, folding pleats, attaching skirt
  • Hammering of tack strips with hand tools
  • Carrying product from conveyor to upholstery work bench and return completed product to conveyor
  • Learn what components are applied to each model
  • Review upholstery tag to ensure the right fabric color is going on the correct frame to the customer
  • Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

  • Repetitive pulling, pinching and gripping with both hands
  • Must be able to recognize defective fabric or inconsistency in the fabric
  • Able to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, which could include overtime
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Adhere to quality standards and safety practices as defined in the work instructions
  • Possess willingness to cross-train on other jobs or lines as production dictates

Education or experience required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
