Job summary

Riot Games is seeking a Software Engineer III on the UnEco team in Los Angeles to own technical direction and deliver player-focused experiences. You’ll mentor engineers, align on an engineering vision, and tackle projects spanning gameplay features, tooling, CI/CD, and runtime performance.

You’ll lead multi-month efforts, collaborate across disciplines, and drive priorities with senior leadership, while building highly scalable systems that empower Riot’s teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise with C++.
• Experience with mobile development.
• Experience working with modern game engines.
• Experience with large game teams and large code bases.
• Experience debugging, profiling and optimizing complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of common game and software design patterns.
• Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Be hands-on in development, writing high-quality code.
• Drive the ideation and process of setting technical direction within the Unreal Ecosystem.
• Lead the technical execution of multi-month to year-long work efforts.
• Help teams navigate ambiguity by breaking down problems and communicating trade-offs.
• Work on a range of tech stacks including infrastructure, build/test automation, release pipelines, and tooling.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address pain points and exceed expectations for continuous delivery.
• Mentor senior engineers and model Riot values.
• Be a force multiplier for your team and enable delivery of complex projects.
